2026-10-28 01:40:34 +00:00 | 91 commits to main since this releaseKioku is a tracker for anime, manga, light novels and visual novels that runs on your own computer. It is made first for Windows and works on macOS and Linux too. Your library lives in a database on your computer, syncs with AniList, MyAnimeList, AniDB, Kitsu, MangaBaka, Shikimori, Simkl, Bangumi and VNDB, sends to Trakt, plays your episodes in mpv or follows the player you already use, reads your manga and light novels, and lets you watch together with friends. - A title's page leads with Watch: on a phone Watch episode N sits in the main row beside +, not two screens down, and the floating button follows it.
- The page's top line says when a title not out yet starts and when an airing one's next episode comes; a finished title names its sequel already in your library, with where it stands ("Planning, coming 2027").
- An airing title's progress says how many are out ("of 12, 3 out"); a light novel counted by volume steps volumes first.
- More's Up next follows the tag you fill Up next from, and taking a tag off a title has Undo.
- "The story goes on in the light novel" shows after an anime adapted from one, offering the right book.
- A planned anime that AniList moves to another season, or leaves without a date, is told of once (several together).
- Share on a title's page has its page on your Kioku server first, to copy or send.
- Calmer pages: the bell only where it brings news, one Share on a phone, the marks you never set and the empty episode diary out of the way, news naming one title of a run on its own line, and the week's days as tall as their shows.

- Kioku starts quicker with a big library, on a phone above all.
- Your favourite anime and manga on AniList count as loved in For you and Taste, where no score, tag or pick of yours says otherwise.
- Seasons shows what your friends plan only when they plan something; the season bingo sits beside Share, and a season still to come has no empty bar.

- Phone notifications from your Kioku account follow your app's notice settings: none for a title you muted, none when you are far behind, and an episode an hour after it airs, when the simulcast is up; a title's delay no longer stays beside its episode.
- The website's bell lists the episodes of the last two days when you come back, as your phone heard of them.
- Planning from Seasons is quicker on AniList: each title comes from the season's own list, and its relations follow within minutes.

- Next season's plan: the not-started count on Seasons opens a season still to come in the Planning deck to keep or drop its picks, Starts puts titles with only a month after those with a day, and +1 waits until a show is out (it started a planned title months early, or finished a film).
- No "Now on" streaming notice for a show not out yet.
- Up next, lists and settings changed on two devices at the same moment both stay.
- A title added to a service lists in its history what it holds, not ten empty fields.

- Picks made while the app keeps step with your account are no longer lost, on the desktop and on the phone, and a pick is never counted twice.
- A change that goes to AniList long after its list was read checks the entry first: one you made on AniList meanwhile is not written over, the higher progress or the newer change stays, and Sync settles what is left.
- Adding a title offers Up next when you fill Up next from a tag.
- Settings, Streaming shows how many of your anime still to watch each service has for your country.
- Manga and light novels still coming out are no longer marked completed when you reach the chapters out so far, here or on AniList.

- A notice's Watch opens and asks about the episode you are at, not the one that aired, and Mark watched marks the next one when you are behind, in the bell and on the desktop alike; links meant for your region come first.
- Coming back from a streaming site sets your progress to the episode as your account has it, so a mark from the phone in between is not counted twice; no run of episodes is guessed after more than three hours away, and a quick glance back keeps the question for later.
- Watch on Home opens within the tap on a phone, and old Crunchyroll episode links give way to the series page.
- The browser extension keeps the episode while Netflix hides its title, and speaks Czech.
- The website's copy of the app syncs your Kioku account alone and less often, leaving other services to the server.

- Franchises hold together: the seasons between two of your titles that Kioku never read are read in the background once a week, so a franchise no longer splits in two, and franchises you caught up with a season announced stand apart as Waiting for more.
- A franchise's page counts the main story and your own titles, not music videos and side stories you never added.
- Placing a title no longer counts a pick on the titles it met, so they stay among the least picked, and Home's pick has an Undo.
- On a phone, a service's line on Services shows when changes were sent and the list was read.
- A library file from a newer Kioku brings in what this version knows and says what it left out, rather than being refused.
- The website's copies of the app ask the server far less often, leave other services' logins to the server, drop their old backups, and a server update gives each copy's first start the time its database needs.

- Picking settles a flat order sooner: titles that share a rating stand for the middle of their places (a single won pick no longer counts as loved, and tiers spread out), a title never picked meets one picked, S skips as Can't choose does, the best of four counts each pick from the ratings before, placing a title takes about three picks, U steps back within it, and Undo takes back only its own pick.
- Turn your picks into scores keeps the scores you gave and waits while many titles share a place; a title's page shows a shared place as a range, and the library sorts by picks kind by kind.
- Planned titles drop the ratings of picks made when Planning was among them, so one you finish later is placed afresh.
- Services says what is true of a service read by hand: changes go as you make them, the line says when they were last sent and when the list was read, a sync's toast says what it took and sent, and the history leaves out quiet syncs.
- Backups are packed to a quarter of their size, a restored backup that does not open gives your library back, a failed daily backup shows under its switch, and a day of only settings, favourites, lists or Up next is backed up too.
- Franchises: an announced season no longer leaves a watched franchise unfinished, a dropped season settles it, recap films are recaps, each card says the next title or the season you skipped, and franchises of one title with a skipped season show too.
