StableSome checks failedrelease / release (push) Has been cancelledreleased this
2026-10-28 17:51:46 +00:00 | 1 commits to main since this releaseKioku is a tracker for anime, manga, light novels and visual novels that runs on your own computer. It is made first for Windows and works on macOS and Linux too. Your library lives in a database on your computer, syncs with AniList, MyAnimeList, AniDB, Kitsu, MangaBaka, Shikimori, Simkl, Bangumi and VNDB, sends to Trakt, plays your episodes in mpv or follows the player you already use, reads your manga and light novels, and lets you watch together with friends. Kioku speaks English, Slovak and Czech.
New in 2.158.0
- A pick, an Up next change or a setting sent to your Kioku account whose answer was lost on the way (a connection that broke) no longer counts twice, comes back after you took it out, or undoes a change you made back.
- A title you add on your phone keeps its picks and marks when it reaches the computer's library a few minutes later, and one taken out of a library and added back keeps the picks made elsewhere meanwhile.
- Up next on another device no longer keeps a title that left a library while a send failed, nor brings back one you took out right after it arrived.
- After a restore, a start whose keychain was not there (on Linux, a keyring still locked) asked every account for a login again for good: the keychain's next start reconnects those whose logins it holds.
- A No to Taste's question whether your lists read like ratings, and to Home's whether tags fill Up next, holds on every device, as the loved tag question's does.
- Settings the account holds in an odd shape no longer make every exchange save your settings again.

- A backup restored from another computer, which numbers your accounts its own way, keeps this computer's login of the same account: the account works on, instead of asking for a login again.
- Restoring a backup keeps this computer's player program and backup folder. Kioku's control of mpv lives in a folder only you can enter, Linux notifications show names and titles as plain text, and on Windows links and files open as a double click opens them.
- Two of your devices exchanging with your Kioku account at the same moment no longer lose one's picks, Up next, lists or settings to the other's (once your Kioku server runs 2.157.0 too).
- The season deck's skipped titles stay skipped on every device, so a season gone through on the computer does not start again on the phone (through the website once your Kioku server runs 2.157.0 too).
- A No to Home's question whether a tag means you loved a title holds on every device. Show hints again in Settings asks it again.
- The time machine no longer shows titles planned now as in progress on every day since their start date.
- Watch and Read show their streaming services' titles in whole rows of cards at any width: nine on a phone.
- On a phone, Help's Getting started speaks of the phone's search and its bar at the bottom.

- Kioku keeps other programs and websites out. A page of another program on your computer, or of another app on your NAS, can no longer change your library, and other websites can no longer reach the app's data in the background.
- A paired phone can no longer change the computer's player program or backup folder, add the computer's folders or restore a backup file, and Organise's Undo takes back only what Organise did.
- On Windows, the buttons of Kioku's notifications are signed, so a website can no longer mark episodes or make picks through kioku: links.
- Behind a reverse proxy on another computer or port, set
base_urlto the proxy's own address (the read-me explains). Update your Kioku server too.

- Organise and Free up keep your files safe. On Windows, Free up asks before deleting a file the Recycle Bin will not take (it deleted it for good before). No rename and no trash ever writes over another file, on any drive. Titles starting with a dot (.hack//) stay in your library after Organise, Undo puts episode numbers back exactly, subtitles of another episode stay where they are, and Organise and Free up do only what their list showed you.
- On a phone: library cards say Upcoming or Airing in full, and the view, kind or season you chose in Stats, Discover and Seasons scrolls into view.

- Restoring a backup keeps what belongs to this computer. A login goes only to the service it was saved for (a backup from another computer could hand one service another's login); a service that has none asks you to log in again. Phones, browser extensions and sign-ins you took back stay out. Your Kioku account's rankings, tiers and extras win where they differ from the backup's, with what you picked since the restore added once; a pick made just before the backup no longer counts twice. A restore that fails says so in Settings > Data, and the backup made before a restore is copied to your backup folder too.
- Rank no longer asks you to pick between a show and its own film or seasons while other titles are near, and titles sharing a place in your order show as =1.
- A title's episode list is as long as the title when its length is known: extra episodes Kitsu counts are no longer shown as out after the last one, here and on the website (update your Kioku server for that).
- Stats > Calendar's year of activity counts the episodes you mark on AniList, so it matches the months above it.
- Every switch in Settings explains itself behind a tap.
- On a phone: the open tab of a title or of the library scrolls into view, Home's Up next card keeps its remove button in its corner, the season's buttons sit in one row, franchise cards say how many titles are still to come or were cancelled, and pictures from other sites that do not load leave no broken picture behind.
- Kioku's own library file chosen in Import a list says to import it as a library file.

- AniList keeps what you changed there: when a change waiting to go out finds AniList's value newer, Kioku takes AniList's value at once, so your next edit of that title no longer sends the old one back over it.
- A title you removed here and add back while AniList still holds it comes back with its score, dates, notes and lists, rather than wiping AniList's entry.
- On your Kioku server: two devices changing one title at the same moment no longer undo each other, a note or tag with an unusual character no longer stalls the exchange, the website's own writes no longer go over a device's newer copy, and the server's own list sync no longer overwrites a title you added meanwhile. Update your Kioku server too.

- When two devices both change your Up next, notes, moments or other lists before they meet on your Kioku account, both changes stay: a title taken off on one stays off, and a move made on the other stays moved.
- Saved filters made on two devices before they meet both stay, smart lists stay in the sidebar when another device changes your filters, and an open filter keeps pointing at the same one.
- The first exchange after updating from an older version keeps what you removed there, and a title's rows survive its link to your Kioku account changing.
- Scores in detail given while an exchange runs are kept.

Kioku 2.151.0
StableSome checks failedrelease / release (push) Has been cancelledreleased this
2026-10-28 04:10:34 +00:00 | 76 commits to main since this releaseKioku is a tracker for anime, manga, light novels and visual novels that runs on your own computer.
New in 2.151.0
- Your Kioku account keeps your own data safer between devices: an Up next row, an episode note, a skip or a mute of a title another device does not have yet is no longer removed everywhere, a title one device names another way no longer makes the two send the same table back and forth, and picks are not counted twice after a lost answer.
- Picks, tier lists and year picks keep the titles the account cannot name when a newer copy comes from another device.
- The first exchange after updating from an older version no longer undoes what your other devices changed, and a title you take out of the library leaves its Up next and other rows everywhere.
- A computer whose clock runs behind still gets its settings and tables to the account, and a favourite added on another device is not wiped by an exchange running at that moment.
- Notices held by quiet hours stay back when you set Away, and a bell tells you again when a start date moves back to an earlier one.

- Recommended for you draws on more of what you loved: the seasons and films of one franchise count once, and one title brings at most three picks.
- Notices told once: a week off and the delay that made it are one notice, and a planned title with a bell starting is told as its premiere. A week off comes after the episode before it.
- Notices are kept rather than lost: a channel that failed gets them when it answers again, a device that takes episodes gets the daily digest, and a bell's new season reaches your phone. The website's bell no longer shows them twice.
- A muted title is left out of every notice, its streaming services, season lists and sequels too; far behind applies to dubs and breaks.
- You counts the anime and books you began or finished, as Stats does, shows reached achievements in a line, and keeps Profiles folded when you have one.

- Your phone hears the app's own news: turn on Your phone, through your Kioku account in Settings > Notifications, and a title coming to a streaming service, sequels, a season's list, a planned title moved, breaks, the weekly recap and the like reach the phones that get your account's notifications (episodes come from the account already). The website's push settings have a switch for them, News of titles from the app. Update your Kioku server too.
- Settings says which pages stay on this device (Keyboard, Player and files, Devices, Data) when your account carries the rest, and quiet hours have one name on both notification pages.
- The command palette (Ctrl+K) finds your favourite characters, staff and studios by name.
- A title's chips on a computer say when it starts or when the next episode comes, as on a phone.
