2026-10-28 17:51:46 +00:00 | 1 commits to main since this releaseKioku is a tracker for anime, manga, light novels and visual novels that runs on your own computer. It is made first for Windows and works on macOS and Linux too. Your library lives in a database on your computer, syncs with AniList, MyAnimeList, AniDB, Kitsu, MangaBaka, Shikimori, Simkl, Bangumi and VNDB, sends to Trakt, plays your episodes in mpv or follows the player you already use, reads your manga and light novels, and lets you watch together with friends. Kioku speaks English, Slovak and Czech.
New in 2.158.0
- A pick, an Up next change or a setting sent to your Kioku account whose answer was lost on the way (a connection that broke) no longer counts twice, comes back after you took it out, or undoes a change you made back.
- A title you add on your phone keeps its picks and marks when it reaches the computer's library a few minutes later, and one taken out of a library and added back keeps the picks made elsewhere meanwhile.
- Up next on another device no longer keeps a title that left a library while a send failed, nor brings back one you took out right after it arrived.
- After a restore, a start whose keychain was not there (on Linux, a keyring still locked) asked every account for a login again for good: the keychain's next start reconnects those whose logins it holds.
- A No to Taste's question whether your lists read like ratings, and to Home's whether tags fill Up next, holds on every device, as the loved tag question's does.
- Settings the account holds in an odd shape no longer make every exchange save your settings again.
Download and first start
System File First start Windows 10 and 11 Kioku-2.158.0-windows.zipUnzip it and double-click Kioku.exe. Kioku is not code signed, so Windows may say "Windows protected your PC": click More info, then Run anyway. Kioku adds itself to the Start menu.macOS 12 and later Kioku-2.158.0-macos.zipMove Kioku to Applications and open it. It opens the same library as the archive. Inside it the window is always WebKitGTK and Kioku's own player cannot reach mpv (episodes open in your default player); a folder outside Videos, Downloads and Kioku's own needsflatpak override --user --filesystem=<folder> space.toxik.Kioku.Browser extension Kioku-2.158.0-extension-chromium.zip,Kioku-2.158.0-extension-firefox.zipChromium-based browsers: unzip, open the extensions page, turn on Developer mode and choose Load unpacked. Kioku opens in a window of its own (WebView2 on Windows; on Linux WebKitGTK, or a Chromium-based browser's app window with NVIDIA graphics or without WebKitGTK; the default browser as a last resort). To connect AniList, open Services, choose Connect on AniList and approve: nothing else to set up. The first sync is always a preview that changes nothing until you apply it.To play episodes in Kioku's own player, install mpv; or keep the player you have and let Kioku follow it. Everything else Kioku needs comes with it or installs itself.
